I just reacently bought a mint condition 1980 first gen. with 38000 original miles. The motor was blown, so i sent it to my dad, whose shop is down the street from KD rotary. I got the motor back thursday, and rented a car to drive from philly to Nazareth to install this motor. Well, the install went well, but the damned thing wouldn't start. Ater checking all the obvious, (spart, vac lines, etc.) I turned to the carb. It trys to start, but when you stop cranking the thing dumps TONS of fuel into the secondaries. I mean enough to fill the barrels. I took off the top of the carb, cleaned the jets one by one and reinstalled them (as to not mix them up) and adjusted the floats to factory specs. Still does the same thing. I am flooding this motor more then the banks of the mississippi do in a year! I know i am missing something here, please help me out!!! I have until tuesday to be back to work, my rental car is turned in already, and worst of all i am stuck at my parents!! KD won't be back in untul wendsday, so please, anything you guys and gals can think of would be greatly welcomed. Thanks in advance....

damn i havent been around. if u still have problems with the car try checking the timing. also its a good idea to drop a lil atf in the engine to create some compression. thats how mines finally started.
