I just bought an 85 Gs thats in terrible condition. Luckily, my girlfriends dad is a master mechanic, and we are going to restore the entire car inside and out. The body is horribly rusty, and the front and rear ends need to be replaced along w/ the fenders. Basically, i've had trouble finding companies that will sell body parts (stock and Aftermarket) as well as everything else for a car this old and would like to ask you all to reply naming websites or company names that sell parts for my poor old first gen. Hopefully we can compile a list that everybody can use. thanx

Victoria British carries all OEM body parts. Their catalog will have everything you need.

I very much appreciate your reply and find the site very useful. Can we also get a list of aftermarket companies selling parts(both body and mechanical) for these cars. The link for OEM parts is very useful for anybody who will need parts and finds this thread using the search, but if we can also get a list of other companies, then the spread of information of aquiring aftermarket parts can also enjoyed by all whom have similar questions. thanx

unless youre wanting to rebuild it for fun or something it would probably just be better to get another car to start with

I understand that the car I am working on will end up wasting my time and a lot of money, however, the point is that I am working with a mechanic to learn how this stuff works and how to fix it when its broken(like my car). I intentionally bought the crappiest car i could. The car is going to be built with fun and aftermarket performance and styling in mind. I am simply asking for a list of companies and or websits where i can find parts for this amazing car from the sources that everyone else is acquiring parts from for their rides. i've seen pictures of the cars you people on this forum own and would like to build a car that looks as nice and performs well.

I would love to learn how to do body work and it seems that you will be learning a lot about it!

As far as performance is concerned, there are a bunch of different directions to go in. Do you want forced induction? Or do you want to remain naturally aspirated?

After answering that question we can help you reach your goal!

I'm lookin to go in the direction of non-forced induction. Mabe later down the road I may look into a supercharger. For now, im looking for body parts to replace the bad pieces i have now and some performance for either less than $1500 or mabe $2000. Im lookin at the project to cost a lot of money, but it should be fun.

Are you looking for a set wheels? I also have the whole tray that the sunroof rests in and the piece were the bottom end of the rear hatch closes. I cut them of an old fb. These places tend to collect water, due to the drains being clogged by debris. You might want to check those areas out. If your drains are clogged, blow them out with an air hose. A coathanger works fine too. You'll have another rust problem on your hands+leaking water into the interior if you don't keep an eye on those 2 spots.

Yea, thats on my list of things to get, wheels. I got the repairs undercontrol, i just need replacement parts for like the rear bumper and other assorted body panels. I need sites where i can view body kits (b/c one is gettin installed sooner or later). The panels of the aftermarket pieces can replace the rusted and smashed pieces already on the car.

Does anybody kno of frame repair kits or repair panels. The Strutrods of my frame are showing sum significant rust, and i need to repair them. If anybody knows of these kits for this make, please let me know before i look to destroy another body for the pieces or take the time to re-manufacture these pieces myself and install them.
