so yeah, my drivers side door handle broke on the inside, the little latch part that connects to the spring inside the door panel, what can i do to fix this, im thinking jb weld it back together, i mean 30 bucks for a new doorhandle, thats rediculous haha
any ideas? or should i just stick with the jb weld idea |
Jb weld is a waste of time for your door handle, just pay the money to have a new one. It is a little more money now, but much less hassle and inconvenience later.
Have a look at the other door handle, you should be able to swap them around, if I remember correctly, they have two connection points on the handle, just be careful when removing the handle, as they can break easily if your not carefull.
yeah thats the problem, one of my connection points broke on the drivers side door handle, thats why i was wondering if it would be easier to jb weld the connection point back together. i will pull the doors apart today and look at swapping them for now
buy a new one, $30 is cheap
i think there were some for less than that on ebay
well, i hit up the junkyard today, got driver and passenger side a pillar molding, drip rail molding all the way across, and while i was there, i jacked the drivers side door handle mwahahaha
the best part, all of that, for 10 bucks off of a freshly painted, but blown engined black fb |
ooo i need to go take a look
yeah well the door handle is a stupid pole smoking *****. the new one broke in the same freaking place
hey whats the name of that place in longview?
its called i hate my freaking rx7 due to nothing going right when i try to fix the thing.
yeah i had to get a new one myself. from the looks of it, it broke in the exact same place mine did. what i did is scrounged one in a junkyard from a ghettoed out rx that still had a picture of the assumed owner in it. then i JB welded all around the nasty weak part. its been workin pretty good for me. do you have to climb in from the pass side to open ure door?
hehe sure do lapis, looks like im buying me some jb weld, after i got my clutch replaced of course
wait a tic... in ure sig, it says something about a loose aftermarket steeringwheel. whats that about? i have a kragen APC wheel i stuck on mine and no matter how much i torque down the bolts it comes loose as paris hilton within a week. how you do it? locktite?
its still loose a little LOL, i forgot to change the sig to say, new steering wheel thanks to trammell.
i have no idea, its tight for turning, i can just pull it in and out, like its telescoping even though its not supposed to |

i have no idea, its tight for turning, i can just pull it in and out, like its telescoping even though its not supposed to It's pushing in and out because the plastic retainers holding the telescoping column from collapsing is either broken or loose. There is a mod you can do to fix that.. There are a bunch of posts on the rx7club.com forum about how to fix it. Good Luck. Dave |
