im going to buy a 85 an i want to seriously upgrade tha brakes but man it's alot i heard that tha 2nd gen gxl's have 4piston front calipers is that true? if so do you think it would be a good strong swap into a 1st gen stock braking sys?
i know the swap is rather complex and fairly expensive. there really is no need to go that far with brakes unless you have a LOT of power and some serious racing planned for the car.
if you're going to keep it relatively mild, then i would suggest just getting some upgraded pads all around (if you have 4 wheel discs), stainless steel lines (these are GREAT), and some good high-temperature synthetic fluid. another point i'd like to stress is tire choice ... this is VERY important to complement your braking system.
