Hi everybody my name is Ivan and i just bought a 85 gsl rx-7 the motor is a 12a and it came with a RB intake 650 Holley double pumper aeromotive electric fuel pump and aeromotive FPR and the car has a aluminum fuel cell and it has steel braided lines all the way for fuel,Also 2 MSD 6AL and it has headers which is 2 to 2 to 2 1/2 exhuast.Also a act clutch 6 puck.On the third day the engine broke so i had to open it and i found out the the motor has been pinned but the ports were small at the housings.So now am planning to actually streetport it.

How much horse power would i be able to get out of it?



I also bought some apex seal brand LES i got them from puerto rico has anyone heard of them?

All the guy told me was thats what they are using over there now...

 

ur hp output will determine how aggressive the porting is. i'm surprised the stock 12a ran decently with such a large carb. as for the apex seals, i've never heard of them but if PR uses/trusts them, they must be good. those guys live, sleep, and breath rotary.

 

Do you mean ALS seals? If so they are pretty good. What broke on the engine?

 

I'll bet the carb was way jetted down and probably disconnected the secondary accelerator pump.
