It has 51,xxx miles on chassis and engine, is in great shape, no cancer on the body at all, it is dirty of course, been sitting under a tree for what seems to be over 1 year. Brown body/brown interior. It's an 85, with no mods done it seems, 4 flat tires, but god damned it is clean.

Whad'dya think she is worth? I drove past it today at work, and stopped by, but the owner of the car was not around. He is some redneck backyard mechanic, and more than likely does not know **** about it. I will show up with 300 bucks cash to see if he bites on it or not tomorrow afternoon. And I can check the VIN at work tomorrow, can't forget to do that.

Thanks

Justin

$300 is a great deal

Spoke to the person who had it in his shop and he said he has to contact his son about the vehicle. He said it has not been ran in over a year. Maybe later on today I will try to skip out of work for about 30 minutes. What would be a reasonable price for it though? Nothing over 1k? 500 bucks? I am just trying to get a feel for it. Anything I should look for problems wise, body wise on the 85's? I don't know that much about them. Hell, I dunno the hp and lb-ft.

Thanks

Justin

i paid 800 for mine and it had 218k. mine has a dull bad repaint recolor, burgandy interior, leather, all power that all works. That thing has such low miles that up to $1k would be a great price, and id say even up to $600-700 needing a rebuild if its in good shape (which it prob is at this low mileage) would be a good price. Just do the ghetto compression test and if it wont start and the compression is good then its probably flooded. if the compression is not good then its likely a stuck seal if it was running when it was parked. try some atf or mmo if that is the case

oh, mine is on the original engine, if the engine in that car is still good it probably has a lot left.

Cool, thanks alot Shane. Ghetto compression is to just pull the rear rotor plugs and feel for the 3 pulses? And the guy said he was gonna check Kelly Blue Book for the value of the vehicle. KBB does not even go back that far for that old of a car.

We shall see. And I just want another car to drive around in, and who knows, if I don't like it, I can resell it for probably 5 times the amount I bought it for. Are they really that fun to drive?

Thanks

Shane.Trammell 07-29-2005 04:21 PM

i love mine, its really fun to drive. with the ghetto comp test you pull a plug from each rotor but not at the same time and listen for the wooshes. they need to be strong and even.

check this out. if it has the same options as mine this is the value.

make sure you cut fuel when you do that test. there is an injector jumper by the drivers strut tower, or a fuel pump connector under the drivers bin

just pull the fuse for the fuel injection like on an FC?

oh, that link did not come up. it has power windows, locks, mirrors, 5 speed(they only made it in 5spd right?). i will go by there early in the morning and take another look at it.

i also read that the FB's wheel wells rust out really bad, but this thing only has 50k miles on the chassis?

Shane.Trammell 07-30-2005 09:09 AM

i dont think there is a fuse for the FI, there is an injector jumper or the connector for the pump

are you sure it has power locks? mine doesnt but if that one does mine probably just dont work.

go to kbb.com in the used coupe section and you can get a value.

my wheel wells are plastic so i dont know how they would rust out.
