thanks. i like the red too, but it brings too much unwanted attention, so i will probably be getting rid of the write-me-a-ticket red and opt for a nice british racing green with black accents. i havent done much to the rex in the past couple of weeks though as i am trying to get my disaster of a garage straightened up.

i will have to address some issues that came up. someone took off my left side mirror at the bowling alley monday, which i felt an eye for an eye was fair. no contact info on my car or anything just black paint on their now absent mirror. next the face of my dvd player was stolen, not money or dvds or cds, just the faceplate. person needs a good ol fashion southern hospitality *** woopin.

im able to fix both side mirrors for $100, not too bad there. and i found a cheap 7" touch screen dvd player that will work for the time being. then i will go back to suspension upgrades and diag some steering issues.

i blew an oil seal on the old 12a. i was kind of expecting something to happen soon as the motor has 180k and has never been rebuilt. so i have been cleaning up some old rotors and housings. i will port the front housing tomorrow.

i got my apex seals and springs in yesterday. some carbon one piece seals. i hope they will last long enough for the next motor. all i have left is to order the rest of the seals, but ill have to do that when i get my tax return.

i was hoping the motor would have lasted longer, but now i guess i will have a faster car.

i also ordered re-speeds heatshield as even with $30 shipping was still cheaper than RBs and it looks better than the insulated tin i have on now.

i will also be ordering an aluminum flywheel and in a couple of weeks i will also get an electric fan. my car will go from quick to fast.

how much is it for an electric fan? the clutch on my 83 is going and its annoying the hell out of me lol. and the new heat shields were a good idea. the insulation on mine just caught on fire one day and started smoking all out of my engine compartment. needless to say it scared the hell out of me. i wish you luck on the rebuild, hope it turns out well.

i decided to go with the black magic series fan and that will set you back about $250, but you might be able to find one for less. ive learned the longer you hunt the cheaper the parts.

lol yea that does tend to happen. i will definitely do some hunting. when i open up my hood at idle its like getting hit with a hurricane so i can't even imagine how much power that thing is sapping from my engine.

hah. i love the hurricane analogy. it does sound like a freight train though, doesnt it. the power loss isnt as much as you think, about 5-10 hp to the rear. anyways in the grand scheme of things, it is still cheap power.

so i received my heat shield today. it did not come with the insulation as shown in the picture, which made me a sad panda bear.

lucky for me i had some extra insulation that i used making the cold air box for the race car and so i have a finished product.
