I read the haynes manual which is no help.



where is the connector under the hood to jump wire to see if the fuel pump works.



with the key in the ignition in the on position i dont hear any sounds coming from the pump.



How else can i check to see if this pump is dead? Could it be clogged because the car has sat for awhile.

I don't really know where to jump under the hood, but you could just take out your battery, take it back to the pump, and wire it straight to the pump.

 

I took the rear bin out and disconnected the FP. checked the continuity and my tester read a value and started buzzing. I guess it had continuity.



there is a hose that runs from the tank to a metal line then back to a hose that goes to the fuel filter.



How does the hose coming from the tank get fuel. Does the fuel pump suck it up.

 

Well technically the fuel is gravity fed to the pump as the pump is lower than the tank, and then from there it gets pushed(pumped) towards the engine.

 

my pump is level with the top of my tank.



when i took the hose off the fuel filter on the tank side, very little fuel came out of the hose. There was no pressure at all. now the hose coming from the tank is off of the metal line and still no fuel. I put 5 gal of gas in the car.



I guess my fuel pump is clogged or just spent.

 

probably the filter stopped up...

 

I took the fuel pump out and sprayed some carb cleaner in it. I then hooked 2 wires to my battery and connected them to the pump and got it to work.



I installed it and then it wouldn't work. I unpluged it and put my dc tester into the female connector and with the key on i got a value of 320 something. key off 0 reading key on 320. Now, when i plug the FP in my value of 320 drops to 0.



Any suggestions.

 

You've checked out your fuses?

 

yep under steering wheel all good.



Where is the FP relay located?
