Well, they were desireable. AC cars now have licenced their name to a small company in wales to make cars based on smart roadsters
last I heard before that they moved to malta. Somehow I don't think we'llbe seeing any more cobras

You're probably right on that fact,but in America there's a few companies that do great kits for them .I only dream of owning one of those cars ,but when i get behind the wheel of my 7 , I feel like Steve Mcqueen in LeMans...and I smile...
You mean cobra kits? There's a good few of them around alright, cobras must be the second most replicated car after the lotus 7 (although most 7 kits are more inspired by the lotus than replicas of it) - I wouldn't say the best kits came from the states by any stretch of the imagination though.
