what are all the parts needed to swap my 1980 to GSL-SE hub set up.
You might as well get a donor car (that way you have the eng, trans, rearend, cooling upgrades also!). Too bad, I just got rid of one. But mechanically the SE is completely different. That doesn't mean you couldn't make a Hybrid. You should be able to just replace the hubs, brake system, and suspension (body and frame are the same). But again, cost of buying those pieces vs just getting a donor car...

well i just got the hub/nuckles soft brake lines and calipers for 256 shipped. i didnt want the rotors, to cut down on shipping weight. i mostly converting this so i can have a better selection of wheels and better braking from crossdrilled rotors im going to get. i dont need anything else do i, from what i said before???
oh...and are the calipers any better than my stock 80's? im guessing yes.
plus, getting a GSL-SE from around me is big bucks. even a beat down one with most **** missing.

Yup! Bigger breaks and rotors (and depending on your 80's build level, drum to disc in the rear). You should be able to bolt what you have in. I am trying to remember if there is any linkage difference, I don't think so. But the springs are a little stiffer and your geometry might change (something to address when you choose your rims and tires).

yeah...i already have a LSD rear from a 83-85. im not using GSL-SE wheels on springs/struts.
im looking to go with welds. not sure of what spring/strut to go with. or if theres some nice coilovers. but this is a budget build for me. nothing to crazy. just a little bit of cheap fun.

Tokico struts and shocks work well (stiff, but work well), and for springs I would look at RB (a little expensive, but you know they did there homework). If not, check ground control.

Well, it's been 2 1/2 Months, Have you done it yet ? I just cracked a rotor and figure it's time to upgrade. Some '84-'85 rotors are less than the '80 units. I'm sticking with solid vented rotors since it's mainly a track car (NASA) but I'd like ti find out if you had to change anything other than the rotors and the dust covers?
never did it...never bought the front conversion. figured it wasnt worth it. the money could be better used for something better. bigger brakes didnt mean much to me, it will never see a track with curves...
sorry...
