2nd Worst Thing!

doesn't it suck to have a fresh engine and not be able to jump on it. break in time is driving me crazy. i don't wanna go too high, BUT ITS HARD. anyways, just though i'd mention my agony.

Dude, I'm gonna have to go through this twice, breaking in two motors back to back. First, the the motor in my new 1st gen was freshly rebuilt, so once I get that running I'm gonna be breaking that in. Then, just about the time that motor's broken in, I'll probably have my streetported rebuild for my TII up and running, so I'll be breaking that in as well! Argh, and then, by the time I've broken in the TII, it'll be winter and that means garage time for the TII. Lol.
Oh well.

here's the bad. i got my rx for a real low price of $100. changed the clutch, a few things to the motor and was up and runnin. got headers then my holley 600. was going to clean the carbon befor i put the holley on, blew the apex seals before i got a chance to. OK, means new engine. great, sold my bike so i could get one built from atkins, got it. YAHOO! took it home and changed it. was moving to wa at the same time. figured i'd break it in good before i put the holley on.at least 2,000 miles should be good. drove it over to wa from idaho, stoped in oregon at 658 miles to get the first oil change. was in a hurry and didn't check the job.got to wa, drove it a couple days, at 911 miles after the oil change it happened. toasted the rear bearing. put 3 quarts oil in, didn't even show on my dip. no leaks anywhere. JUST BEEN HOSED. went through the whole "wal-mart" legal system. they ended up telling me " since only the rear bearing was ruined, it wasn't cause of low oil. all bearings would have been ruined." this is the same pweople that wanted me to "drop the oil pan so the bearings will be exsposed". well i couldn't except that. so i ended up taking them to small claims court. them they settled with me. so now i'm back with me new, new engine( still waiting to put the holley on) breaking it in again. holley will be on at 500 miles.

Relax. I bought a used motor and while I was waiting for the 500 mile oil change, the engine blew. No kidding it was at about 490 miles. Just have peace of mind knowing you are doing things right, and hope the engine doesn't pop before you reach the 500 mile mark.
