I'm really curious about the weight of the first gen and how light you can get them to be.

my 83 le is 2350 with a full tank of gas

my 85 gsl-se is 2540 also with a full tank.

the gsl-se has headers and a full exhaust, the 83 is stock

How light you can get them would depend on the application. If your using it as a street car, you are restricted to how light you can get it by what the car legally requires in it. If it was for the track, theres heaps more stuff you can rip off it to lower the weight.

The lowest i know of is about 1800 pounds i think. They took off the steel body parts and replaced them with a fiberglass widebody kit.

My 85 GS was 2380 stock, and my 85 gsl-se is rated 2560 stock i think. Since i have removed several things. I'll weight it some day i guess....
