Well a friend of my mom just moved from Puerto Rico to here in Texas and guess what his first car was!!

An 85 Rx-7 Gtu. It is in great condition, paint is good, Engine is good. Only thing wrong was that its rear wiper was broken and a crack on the front windshield. I think it only has around a 100k miles on it and it is a gorgeous car. He only paid $1500 for it. Maybe he was just lucky but it seems about right!

Thats what I thought too!!! he said it was an 85 but had the 1st gen body style. Maybe he just didnt know. But I am 99% sure it was a GTU. Was the year wrong?

Ahhh...now I am thinking about the car. Maybe it was a GSL. But no doubt 1st gen body style. When did they stop making the 1gen body? I will try and get a pic next time I see the car!

The first gens were built from 79-85.Yeah post a pic in the picture archive.You can never have too many.
