[B][FONT=Impact]Ok, I know I probably sound dumb, but I need to know... I'm in the process of purchasing a 1984 Mazda RX7 from a neighbor, now... my question is simple... What makes this car such a good car that everyone wants it? Oh, and how do I know what size of engine it has? It is soon to become another project car for me and I need you guy's help.
One more thing... does anyone know where I can get a list of cheap mods I can start with in my quest for more HP's? please reply with any info, I'd appreciate it or E-mail me at, DigitalCreature@aol.com Thanks |
Well first off welcome aboard... being a forum we usually reply to posts as opposed to emails.... anyhow unless the model is a GSL-SE the engine is a 12A. The GSL-SE is the only model available in 84 with a 13B.
12A=1.2 liter 13b=1.3 liter and is also fuel injected. Hope that helps. |
Welcome to the rotary world. The simplest ways to tell what model 7 it is, is to look for a badge that says GS, GSL or GSL-SE. Or open the hood. It will say right on the motor, drivers side, 12A(carbed) or 13B(fuel injected).
Why does everybody like 7's? Because they are so much fun. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Especially 1st gens. Imagine a boinger(pistons) owner mind when he gets dusted by a 1.1L(12A) or 1.3L(13B). :smirk: You can create all kinds of HP pretty easy. :bigok: As far as mods, just about anyone who has dealt with 1st gens will tell you to go with headers and exhaust first. After that, look at maybe a K&N. |
