It's been rumored around the 7s I know that a 1st gen Miata shifter can drop into a 1st gen 7...

Can anybody confirm this?

I've got a 85 GSL that I auto-x and want to shorten up the throws a little...

If somebodys done it, how much shorter are they?

i know the shifter works in the 2nd gens but i have no idea if it works int he 1st gens

 

it can work, but you need to change the lower shifter thingee
