Is it going to stay EFI or carbed? If you decide to go carbed then the swap is fairly easy.Just get the front crossmember, Front cover, oil pan and mounts from the 84-85 GSL-SE model to drop it in.They you will need to swap a dizzy on it as well.If you stay with the EFI setup then you will need to wire up the ECU.

The Dizzy is the distributor. But I thought those were interchangeable? Also, I read in another forum that "the OMP on the SE front cover is run off a rod, while the S5 is electronic and will not bolt up to the SE cover", which makes that front cover swap problematic.

If I'm right, the only reason we have to change the front cover is for the motor mounts. It seems like there could be some kind of adapter...

I'm planning a similar swap, an S5 into an '85 GLS-SE. Seems like it would be just drop-in, except for the motor mount issues. I wish you luck!
