i had posted this in the "engine swap" chat but its gone now so i'll post it agian now. since my problems with my 12A, and i was gonna do it anyway, i'm gonna put a 13BTT in my car. i have a mechanic who can do it but i can't decide if i want to go with Rotoryworks or Mazdatrix, i did find an engine, transmition, and complete wiring harness at this site called Jspec Auto Sports, (by the way if anyone knows anything about this place let me know) but they are only selling the engine as is no warranty, my mechanic advised against them because of that...any thoughts???

First question: Why the hell do you want a twin setup?

Second Question: Why the hell do you want a twin setup?

See where this is going?

Hey thanks for coming out

You'll need to swap front cover and oil pan, and oil pickup from a GSL-SE 13B

the FD engine has rear engine mounts, the FB 13B has front cover engine mounts. All you have to do is swap over the front cover, install the brace, and now it's a bolt on. The oil pan and pickup goes with that style of mount, but I think you might be able to stick with the FD pan and pickup since it's not like (the most common) FC engine swap into the FB.. The FC pan and mounts are funny enough to neccessitate swapping the FB pan assembly

If you get an FD rear counterweight and bolt on a flywheel for an N/A engine, you can use your 12A transmission

But that won't hold up to twin turbo too well

But if you use the FD transmission, you'll have to fab custom transmission mounts and then have a custom driveshaft made.. A bit complicated... Not to mention all the fabbing involved with the IC setup for the twins, etc..

It's been done it's NOT cut and dry though, a bit more complex than you think

Sure beats a wimpy 12A though

Well then the same rules apply

Only you'll need for sure the GSL-SE oil pan and pickup assembly

I don't believe the FC transmission is a bolt on... Even if it is, the TII tailshaft has a bigger spline than the 12a/13b N/A stuff.. so still custom driveshaft required..

Since it's got the TMIC you can either cut a hole in the hood and make a scoop or you can replumb the intercooler

Hahahah You hate the **** out of me dont ya man?

Honestly with so many people bitching about difficulty tuning twins, under hood temps, and not enough room in a ******* FD, why would you wanna go sequential in an FB? A single is much easier to tune not to mention the stock tranny that is going to **** itself as soon as you get on the gas. N/A 12A is pushin 103 horse STOCK. My transmission is giving me **** with the stock motor as is.

As far as a 12A being a "wimpy" motor, do I have to link you to the numerous 12A 4 ports runnin around on boost that would stomp your ***? I mean really, how much can you tell me about a 12A? You didnt even know it was a 1.1 litre motor, I had to point that out to you. Just because you cant get parts out of the back of your Super Street mag for a 12A doesnt mean its "wimpy".

www.rotaryshack.com Go tell Rob what you think about 12A's. I need a laugh.

SURE BEATS A WIMPY STOCK PORT 20 YEAR OLD 12A WITH A 20 YEAR OLD CARB

God man, take everything so serious..

No kidding you can still make power out of a 12A... The guy said he wanted to do a 13B swap, there's the information he needs without the bullshit.

It still wouldn't make it a bolt on unless it was a GSL-SE. The difference between a SE and 12A car is in the cross-member not the engine bracket. Seeing as it's a 12A car he would either have to buy the RB bracket, straighten out the stock bracket or slot the holes in the bracket and crossmember by 10mm each. Then it becomes a bolt on.
