so a couple of years ago i threw together a 12a 89 b2200 with a totota posi in the back and dam was that a fun truck to drive but as the price of gas went up out here (vancouver island canada) i desided to put it on propane (i work at the only shop around that works on lpg so the conversion was free) the benifits of lps most definitly out-wayed the drawback ie instant starts hot or cold half the price to fill the tanks over the gas tank and it goes twice as far mo more choke smoth as glass 400 rpm idle even when cold (is capble of idling down to 75 rpm i realise that is usless but it was cool to try) only drawback had to get rid of the dual exhaust had to put side exit on pasangerside infront of tire cause the tanks were in the way there was a small loss in power manly due to not changing timing and the lack of runner tise in the stock manifold so to solve theas problums i built a new intake manifold and it is getting force fed but my question is i need to figure out an ignition map lpg is around 110 octain rating i have takin the vacume advance out of the distributer and locked it out cause i am using a msd boost timing control with built in vac advance a 6a cdi box firing a leding wast spark coil out of a 2nd gen with the hot side of the coil on the leding and wast spark on the trailing but now i need to set up my timing curve and was wondering if anyone had any input

Kudos to anyone who read this hole post i apologise for it's length

Nice job on the manifold! I wish I could help - but I've not done a propane boosted rotary (yet)...

Keep us updated on the overall project though. Are you going w/ EFI now or did I miss that part in your original post?

Very sweet, I've heard of guys running propane at the short track where I run..if anything it should be a huge advantage over gasoline.

Can you give me a little more info on your lpg conversion, specifically the dry gas carb(or alternatives), and fuel tuning on it?

whell lpg carbouration now is imco 425 mixer with the restrictor plate removed mounted on a stock 12a base plate with custom adaptor with oil injection lines fed buy a imco modle e mixer with the 2ndary diafram spring swaped out to an ornge spring (insted of the factory green spring ) lockoff is a viallie electric lock/magnetic partical filter and a viallie lock box controler ( suplies a 5 second prime when engine is below 60 celcius and only opens lock when ignition signal is receved) this helps to decreas long cranking in the morning or if the truck has sat for a while. the factory base plate will be removed when i get the turbo on the truck i have driven it this way for 2 years naturly asperated but need boost now as far as tuning goes i have a imco air/fule meter specificly desined for seting up lpg systems but never got aroung 2 playing with timing much but i want to fix that now

ps i dont know if anyone has posted or ran into this but out here at least it is getting harder to find the 12a igniters for the distributor and here mazda wants $450.00 each but if u use a 6a msd box and remove the igniter, hook the pickup coil directly to the mag imput (the purple and green wires on the little plug by the tach output on the 6a) you will never have to get another igniter again plus u get CDI and it alot cheaper, even the wreckers here want 250.00 for igniter with only 30 day warr....
