#1
Alright to start things off i just want to say hi to everyone as im new to nopistons.com.....now another thing is that im getting ready to start a 12a turbo project this March.....here's my setup as of right now
12a Streetported
Garret t04b
Tial 38mm wastegate
ACT clutch
Holley 600cfm carb
Bosch fuel pump
Mallory fuel regulator
FMIC
HKS BOV
MSD Ignition
Magnacore/Nology Spark Wires
There may be a couple of things i might have left out but thats the main part.....i was wondering if anyone has any input on a different carb?....horsepower i should expect?.....also i wanted to note that the engine is a fresh rebuild 0 miles.....and my car is completely fiberglass widebody and im getting a fiberglass hood, and im getting racing windows.....so thats what i have for weight reduction.....thanks a lot for any advice....parker

Check this site out or give them a call http://www.rotaryshack.com/ I guess they specialize in carb turbo setups. Hope this helps.

i dont really want to talk to another company that does work...b/c they have their own bias reports of the **** they sell and how good it works.....what i want is real opinions and facts from real people that use the products.......i mean u dont go to a Ford dealership and ask about a car b/c they only tell u the good things about it....not the fact that the underbody is rusted out, steering needs aligned, stereo never works, along with the A/C....u get what i mean
i just wanted some of the other guys that have done this prior to me....and i do have some sources that are very valuable when it comes to turboing rotaries.....one of my sources is buidling me my 12a streetported engine and he is goin to help tune whatever carb i decide on for the turbo application.......so with all this said im just tryin to get some justifing answers on hp differences between carbs, and other setups....thanks...parker

PM Directfreak, he runs a holley 600 (think it's a 600, maybe a 650) on his turbo project. I remember him complaining about how it would get out of tune with weather changes and also how he'd have to adjust when runing more/less boost.
Sounds like a fun project. Part of me wishes I would have just started with a 12a core and built it instead of going the j-spec 13b route.

why? rebuilding a 12a is like $50 less than a 13b...

Because I would have saved 2k. 1500 for the 13b-re, 300 for the T2 trans and 200 for shipping. I already have a 12a core and a real smooth N/A trans.
ah, so you just need anther clean straight car? hmmm too bad you're in mn, ive got a gsl-se i need to get rid of

It always seems to work that way Mike....
But ideally I'd like a 84-85 base model with no sunroof with the grey int.
