Sounds like it is running really rich at idle. The A/F gauge will help alot in diagnosis.
well it wasn't the water temp sensor.....it didn't change things much. i didn't get a chance to do the O2 and fuel filter, but i am starting to think that the fuel filter might be the problem.....i found out last night that if i am on the throttle the problem doesn't happen, but if i let the car idle for a few minutes it has the sputtering problem....it almost seems like a clogging or a build up problem??? if i keep the gas and exhaust flowing then i don't have a problem.....weird. i am changing the fuel filter and hopefully the O2 sensor tonight after work.....i'll keep you posted.

well the fuel filter was in dire need of changing.....i nearly turned blue trying to blow through it. it wasn't the problem though, still haven't changed the O2 sensor but am driving it around....hopefully it won't leave me stranded somewhere

well i have now cleaned out the throttle body and entire plentum......damn it was nasty, but it didn't help at all with the hot starting problems, but did give a little more throttle response. I can drive the car without too many problems, a little sputtering here and there, but not much else?? it will begin to idle up then drop......it will keep doing that until it dies (after sitting at idle for about 5 minutes), but i can hit the gas and it will sputter worse, then it will clear and run fine again, until i let it sit at idle for a few minutes??? anybody got any clues?? i have run out ideas?
