I just bought an 85 Gs thats in terrible condition, luckily, my girlfriends dad is a master mechanic, and we are going to restore the entire car inside and out. The body is horribly rusty, and the front and rear ends need to be replaced along w/ the fenders. Basically, i've had trouble finding companies that will sell body parts (stock and Aftermarket) as well as everything else for a car this old and would like to ask you all to reply naming websites or company names that sell parts for my poor old first gen. hopefully we can compile a list that everybody can use. thanx

No offense, but you'd save alot of time and a hell of alot of money by taking the time to find a better body. That rust will come bak to haunt you. People usualy let 1st gens go rather cheap. I've had three of them that i bought for $600-$800 and $1,200

Oh yeah, Victoria Brittish has about the biggest selection of stock replacement stuff i've seen, but they're not cheap! You could just post a topic in parts for sale/wanted listing what you need.

I bought the car for 140 USD and the idea is a project for myself to learn as much about everything about rebuilding a car as i can. think of it as sum guy restoring an old 60's mustang or corvette, im restoring an RX7.

There's not a damn thing wrong with that approach. You'll end up with a whole hell of alot more respect for the car that way. That's the route i've gone on all my cars. It does'nt take long to gain the knowlege, and skill, to make a sweet ride. As long as you have plenty of time and patience, you'll achive what you're looking for. Is there any rust in the collection trays that surround the lower rear of the body where the hatch closes, or where the sunroof rests? The drains that are located in those spots tend to get clogged by debris, collect water, and cause rust. (very nasty fix) I was just wondering, I may still have those 2 pieces that i cut from from a junk body. They are in exelent condition. I was going to weld them in to my old fb, that was before i came across the 1 that i have now. Hey, good luck! TAKE PICTURES! I regret not taking more than I did.

I got my 83 for 190USD in real bad shape the smell was horrable, and i pulled over 2 55 gallon trash bags of nasty rubbish out of it!! the body was badly dinged up,and many parts were missing but i was on a mission to save the rex. And as for rust,.... if ya like to have fun in it you might just total her before the rust can show back up.
