What's Your Favorite Wax?

...to add.
I came to know about dish detergent and its uses and applications on automotive paints by three different local body shops, two of whom I know personally. The Zaino quote was just something I found in support of my own argument. I can not say I have ever tried any Zaino products, but would not mind doing so.

Sorry I havent been on the last few days, blackouts and the fact I just moved into the new house.
I have never heard of either wax, I also am not a fan nor a believer
in these miracle waxes, give one of them a shot and let us know how
it works.

I've read that using diswashing detergents and the like is an ultimate no-no on car finishes. Yes, these things will strip off wax, but it will also strip off essential oils from the paint. A clay bar will strip wax just fine for me. Besides, I think they actually sell cleaners that can strip wax "safely."

I've used Xymol Cleaner wax, and its fine for one-step approach. I get mine at a wholesale warehouse, so its only $5 a bottle, not expensive. The trick to making this work is following the directions on the back of the bottle. My friend tried to apply Xymol like a regular wax, and his finish was f*cked up. However, when you follow the directions, it turns out good.
I do like mothers carnuba and the meguires gold class carnuba wax. I prefer carnubas over synthetics. Yeah, they are a little harder to work with, but they are much clearer and glossier.
