I know somebody who had a motor done there. They're pretty expensive.

Rick and Dave @ Rick's Rotary Performance (aka RX-7 Fashion) are two of the best rotary mechanics on the west coast and they are probably the most highly recommended shop to go to in Northern California. No, they're not inexpensive, but then again, what mechanic or garage is nowadays? On the plus-side, they're both a couple of nice guys and straight-shooters and won't oversell you or BS you on anything. I've had nothing but positive experiences since I've been going there.

I've read a lot of good experiences about ricks place, but i have some different experiences. Basically i dont really have much confidence someone that tells me to wire up a kill switch to the main power wire for my fuel pump. At first i didnt realize it was the main power wire but it was. I'm not the only one that he told to do this. He perform this kill switch on my buddys friends car and ended up blowing his engine. I shortly realized there was a problem when my car would cut out at full throttle on a cold day. I took off the switch and the problem went away, i later wired up the switch correctly to the correct wire at the realy. After that i never went back. This is just my own personal experience with Rick.

hmmm fuel kill switch is actually a safety modification, and NIRA actually makes a battery terminal switch a requirement for their events

Rick has to be the most honest mechanic i know. He never adds things here and there. If you take your car in for one thing he will call you and let you know if anything else is wrong. He will explain. He never left me not knowing what he replaced too. A spring broke in my car for the oil pressure, and he climbed under the car with his DIGI cam can took a lot of pictures to show me what had happened. RICK is expensive. RICK is damn good. RICK is COCKY. quoted from RICK..."You can take your car to any other rotary shop, and i garauntee it will be back here". I truely loved that. Rick does get an A+. He knows these cars in and out
