finally the REPU gets a forum

i would like to know how much work is involved in putting a 12A or 13B into a 78-83 mazda pickup. i might be buying one if it can be rotorized.

question 1. the donor rotary would be a 1st or 2nd N/A rx-7, what parts would i need from either car?

2. how much modifying would i have to do to the truck?

any input you guys have would be killer

thanks

I think that swap is similar to a REPU swap.I know the chassis is narrower than the newer ones which makes turboing out of the question without a custom built manifold. For a NA swap then I'd say its doable. Judge Ito would know if he reads this thread that is.

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif The Job is pretty straight forward. You just need some grinding tools, acetylene torch and a hammer.. Using the 12A engine is alot easier but the 13B offers more power.

I paid $700 for my 88' RX7 (Great running gear)... but not a single straight piece of metal on it.

I did drive it for 3 months before I did my transplant.

(The front end had been hit and clearly the frame was bent, or unibody...)

I orginally was going to use the factory ECU, but the mess of wires and brittleness of them made me opt for a Haltech, plus the tunablity was a strong factor.

i want the least amount of electronics install that i can. i'll save the electrical stuff for my FD. i was thinking about keeping the stock 12A carb on it for right now and later putting on mikuni's or a webber IDA.

i need it for a daily driver for right now while my FD is being rebuilt.

Judge Ito any more help would be invaluable

thanks
