I finally went and picked this up on Sunday. It's a 1974 REPU w/ 110K miles on it. Runs and drives, smokes a little and has a little bit of rust. This should be a fun restore project when I get the time. It has a carb'd 13B in it.

Nice.. congrats..check for rust around the widshield gaskets and the floor pan in the corners and edges.. some also got water inside from the engine bay so look at the firewall inside the cab to see if you see water damage there..

I'm going to start disassembling the car in about a month and have the entire shell media blasted. There seems to be a significant amount of rust in some areas, we'll have a better idea after we get it striped down.



Where can replacement body panel be purchased from? Does anyone still manufacture parts, I really need some rocker panels badly.

Panels are hard to come by.. check ebay for parts, sometime they are for sale and check mazdarepu.com.. or you can get those off a ford courier of the same year range.. they are basically the same truck minus a few details and the engine of course..



so if you find a courier with a good piece just cut it off.. the problem will be finding one..



oh yeah check the battery box on the side too for rust since the corrsion from the battery may not be nice to the old metal..

Thanks for the info. I've been kicking around the idea of putting an FD driveline is this truck. Are there any good places to go for information on that transplant? Is it a common one?

Don't expect to find much of anything. I spent a little over a year trying to track down parts and in the end I never did find much. You would have better luck if you lived on the west coast.



My advice would be to just try to enjoy it the way it is because you will not be able to find any replacement panels and once you take it apart chances are it will never go back together. I don't want to shoot you down but I have been in your shoes. If you are serious about restoring the body expect to have every panel custom made because there are NO replacements around. Seriously,,, none.





I have some random stuff left over from mine and I'll try to make a list of whats is.

Good luck, I hope you decided to just drive it the way it is until the wheels fall off.

We going to autocross it for the remainder of the season. My FC is still down with the cage build, etc. So we're going to run it until the wheels fall off, then figure out what to do with it from there.

Great idea. I have a full set of four new in the box tie rod ends if you want. $200 for the set.

I may take you up on those once I have somme time to go through the truck, I'm not sure what it needs yet. I have found fenders and rocker panels in good shape, however they are in the hurricane right now... Hopefully they are still in one piece afterwards...
