I scored this truck 3 years ago for free from a friend.it sat for 2 1/2years but the last 6months i sold two vehicles to fund this project swapping a s4t2 motor my initial goal is 300hp on stock ports but for now i just want it to run and be road legal.. I rebuilt the motor with low mile jdm plates and new housings s5 stat"s and 3 window bearings.I wired the stock ecu into the repu how i wanted. It took many many hours of reading the wire diagrams and the actual wiring but it seems its worked out.I almost am done with the engine side of things just eliminating vacuum leaks.. pita.. so in the the last photo it shows how im runing the motor n/a for now until i decied what turbo to run.

Only the n/a engines had 6 ports. The turbo engines had 4 ports.

banzai gets their turbo's and accessories from atp turbo. this is the link to the one they put on mine

Garrett GT3582R (aka GT35R, aka GT35/40R) : atpturbo.com

it has a .79 ar for the impeller housing and the t04 style turbine inlet flange with .82 ar and 3" v-band outlet. this is the one used on most of their builds and if you go to their site (banzai-racing.com) they have dyno sheets for several cars they've done on the site. another suggestion is the pan brace. as your engine torques it'll leak oil, the pan brace helps prevent the housings from twisting caused by torque, what little it has :P haha

i dynoed a gt35r car not to long ago. made 372 whp 325wtq on a stock port rew at 1 bar of boost. kinda funny though the toqure curve just flat lined at 5500 rpm. when you drive the car it falls stright on its face at 5500 rpm. every 35r car i been in does this. to me if your autocrossing the car a 35r is good but any hwy or open track stuff the gt35 is not the way to go

thats not very good if it flat lines at 5500 is the turbo maxing its efficencey out? 1bar is 23-25psi?

my plan was to autocross the truck and was thinking i would need boost from 3500/4500-7000/7500rpm?

1 bar= 14.7 psi.

you can run over 20 psi out of them but you need a ton of fuel or meth injection. @fc3sboy, if you want the torque curve higher then raise the boost. it's not nearly choking out at 1 bar. it just needed a better fuel setup to run more boost and more power
