well, after a rediculously long day, finally got it home.
woke up at 8:10, then me and my brother had to drive to his friends house to pick him up and take him to his truck (since he locked his keys in it last night). we then had to jumpstart it and then waited for like 5 mins with the engine reving so it could hold idle. after that little endeavor we were on our way. Took about an hour or so to get there, which wasnt that bad, got the deal sorted out and everything. So we then left to Uhaul to pick up a trailor so we could take it home, and after about 45 minutes of them playing with the trailors and trying to get the lights to work they told us that we were going to have to go to a different location to pick one up. so we went inside and waited for them to find another location that had one we could use, which took like 15 minutes, and then we had to drive 20 minutes to the other one and 20 minutes back, and we finally got the car loaded up and on our way. what was supposed to take up our time to about 12 o clock ended up taking up to 5. and then when we get home we had to install an ignition switch so that you would actually have to have a key for the car to be able to drive it. pics to follow. |
screw it. its dark, im tired and my flash isnt working right. ill get some pics tomorrow if i have time.

clutch question: will be installing a T2 tranny in the car pretty soon, i got a racing beat 6 puck clutch with it, and was wondering how this would be for street driving? the engine is a bridged s5 6 port.
http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=12524 thats the one i have, is that workable or should i opt for this one? http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=12508 |

next question:to dynamat, or not to dynamat? i put some insulation (its this 2" thick cotton stuff from an mpv) in my fc and it made a world of difference. you need something on the floor, behind the rear seat.... |
Dynamat is good, but its uber-expensive.
There are some alternatives on EBAY and places like that. Another source is Peel-n-Seal at lowes or Home Depot, lots cheaper tham Dynamatt, but not quite the sound deadening qualities, but you arent building a competition stereo vehicle (I HOPE!!!) |
That's hot!

Eric, the base metal would have to be properly prepped for welding by grinding to bare clean shiney metal. After your re-enforcing plates and cage are welded in; then you could do a local re-application of the spray on product

do no use peal and seal on vertical surfaces.. it has been know to fall off with heat.. there are lots of alternatives for the sound deadening.. you could also try secondskin.. that stuff is know to be good.. and its thin.. other companies also make a fatter one.. or get wild with it and do the spray on bedliner stuff.. peal and seal should work on the floors though.. although with the heat from the exhaust it may tend to smell funny.. i dunno.. never tried it on a rotary..
5 dolla it is.. |
