First. The person who posted this was very clearly told the first step of this motors install was to use heat to loosen up the crisco used for assembly lube (very common practice from pineapple racing to many small shops all across the country). The motor had sat longer than expected and the crisco hardened causing the seals to stick where they were. Simple application of heat and the seal loosen up. He failed to due the first install step voiding the warranty and all obligation for me to continue to help him. The only thing one needs to hear in this video no matter who he interviews is "breaker bar".... Skipped first step and went right to breaking it. Done.

The second thing is he was sold a motor for 1500.00. As we sell our motors as kegs for 1500.00 clear as day on our sites page. We told him of this, as a person who was a fellow club member, not local and in fact overseas we decided to GIVE him an external set up for free as well as provide his core for the build. So to hear him complain about the couple of free throw in parts as he was is insulting.

To the "other forums", no. That as well as the opinions about rotaryworkz and previous people i knew are nothing more than just that, opinions. Bad ones.

Every rotary shop has people fail to install, break in or tune the motors they buy from them, this is a fact. I am sad that you are the first person i have had that was not able to follow simple steps and now has decided to slander JM Classic Imports. However this is not our fault, and no matter how many videos or places this is put to, the fact remains it was not installed correctly, there was nothing wrong with the motor.

Thank you
1. Actually the motor came with no instructions, I had to hunt him down after his first business failed, just like this one will.

2. I used a kerosene salamander heater to warm up the blown JM Classic engine to humor the idea.

3. The motor sat AS LONG AS EXPECTED. When I ordered I even called him from a phone in Afghanistan with a 10 second delay letting him know I won't be arriving home until September and to send it to my friends house. He even had to know this specifically enough to have someone else sign for it.

4. I cannot fail an install step when no such steps existed. Unless first step was of course, tighten loose bolts, install correct water pump, rebuild internals etc.

5. Once again since you don't send instructions with your motors, or the right water pumps, then I can not break the motor. Plus you can't break what is already broken. Did the breaker bar make the spark plugs look like that? Oh and made the paint look shitty too right.

6. You admit you knew I was overseas. Do you think I would be home after I called you. "YO PAUSE THE WAR SOMEONE GOT A 13B!"

7. Call whatever you want a deal the e-mail said running long block drop in. That is what I paid for, but not what I received.

8. To the other forums, you're the #1 sticky to rx7club newbie section. First thing anyone will read is that you are a scammer.

9. It is sad you believe your own lies. You are not a real business. You are a fraud.

10. You couldn't even get the color correct. You are a failure.

So let me get something straight...

You knowingly assemble motors with something that will harden? What even makes you think that is right in any way? ...there are better options, aren't there?

The turbo 2 motor he's had sitting on a stand for years, which was assembled by a reputable company the hasn't been kicked off of ever other forum, still spins over freely by hand with the plugs removed....and actually has compression without having to make it that way.

If you rebuilt this motor as you said you did, why would you install the plugs that were in it? Were you just trying to block off the holes with something you picked up off your shop floor? Every other possible orifice was left wide open for shipping, makes no sense as to why they'd be in there.

I said it before and I'll say it again, you're not very good at what you do....your track record speaks for itself. There was nothing clean about this motor at all, multiple pieces missing/loose/wrong, and your lack of following through with jared speaks volumes.

I'm still pretty sure you're done here. And now banned on rx7club.

WOW. Just watched the video.. This was a bunch of bullshit on all sides.

I don't think there is a capable person here honestly. I want to see a few things from these people. One is a tear down video as i see this one is very old and he has no other posted videos. Its a big claim to make and slander like this without the ability to back it up.

HAS ANYONE READ THE COMMENTS ON THIS VIDEO? HOLY ****! HE IS A RACIST, SEXIST, HOMOPHOBIC AND SKETCHY PERSON!

The second thing is that the motor builder here needs to learn the lesson to not give **** away for free. The world does not work like that, he must not have been doing this long? You charge for everything and then you make sure that the thing they got is what they wanted and paid for! However its pretty fucked up he is bitching about getting a bunch of free parts. But from reading the comments and seeing his attempts to follow directions makes me think he is not really one who is capable of doing much but bitching.

There is a lot of **** happening to the rotary world right now and i think that bashing each other is the last thing that we should be doing while trying to save it from disappearing. Its a shame that there was no way a compromise could have been had here, i feel like after seeing the video and reading the posts that both people felt there was no way it could have been fixed and that's sad.

The one thing that did make me laugh for a while was the end of the video with the friend and his walk around "the worlds fastest DSM car". If there is one thing that i have learned in my years of working on my own rotary cars its this: do not ever listen to your piston mechanic buddies, they do not know **** and will lead you astray! haha

I just thought i might ad my two cents here.....

This is a person i know, i am a state over but have been to this shop many times. I just was told about this and just watched the video and talked with a few others from the seattle area who have had experience with this shop.

I bought a motor from jm classic imports a few years ago. A little over a year i guess. It was a 1500$ deal i saw advertised on craigslist. I was skeptical as the price was so cheap, but after talking with him i learned why. He has no need for money, he is a retired guy who just likes to build rotary cars and motors, he hates the corporate game and the firm grasp that the company's have over the market.

The motor i bought from him did not sit for any amount of time, the week that i got it from him i also put it in. I had a few issues with the crisco getting caked on my plugs but i have also had this experience with lucas products as well. it fired right up after a few cleanings of the plugs though! Smelled like a bakery on my block for a few!

The motor got stronger over the next month and has been a DD for me now. I do know a little about him and the other club as well. It is nothing more than forum BS. He has pissed off a couple of the mods there and was banned a few YEARS before the making of this video and this complaint. He was banned for not selling the admin MAR3 some parts and selling them to a local guy, he was banned for three days. He had lots of sales going on and could not ignore the people who needed tracking numbers and his wife pm'd them from her account. They saw the same IP address and said he was scamming people by using a fake account. Perma ban as given and then when this popped up years later, the one remaining mod (styx) was there to post it up everywhere.

I looked and this is what i found:
joemaddox -this user has over 100 good trader score and no bad ones. There are about five known other accounts he has used and all are as well with good feedback. The only two known bad transactions on the club happened with andrew sinclair and another who posted they lost contact due to his ban, but later got the parts and were happy!

So the only problem that the clubs and rotary world seem to have with him is this guy here. After watching the video, knowing the shop and having work done there and knowing a bit about the person in question i can honestly say that i think the motor here is not blown, its a simple case of the crisco being on the face of the rotor, on the irons and housings surface and having dried out. I asked my dad what he thought the best way to fix a motor seized with a hardened lube, he told me ad heat. Seems its a pretty common sense solution to a simple problem. A motor has hundreds of degrees come out of the exhaust sleeves, what is a hundred in it to get it freed up?

I think we would all appreciate a tear down video! Make sure the camera is on and running when you tear it down so there is no denying that its the motor you are claiming is not rebuilt and is fraudulent!

Also i know that at rotaryworkz (before they found out that there was already a rotaryworks and had to change their name) they did not stamp their blocks. But i know since JM Classic Imports was created they stamp their blocks. Mine has a stamp on it and a warranty!

Last two posters in this thread apparently registered just to make their comments. Interesting.
