I had to write something about these guys. I had some trouble with them on my videos. I also ordered some O-rings from them. I didn't get either product as soon as I thought I would but once I called!! Chandra is very helpful and friendly! She overnighted the parts to me and I got them this morning. She admitted to making a mistake on the order and covered the price of overnight!! That is a way to run a business!!

They deserve an A+ in my book https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

I sell and use many Atkins rotary apex seals on my nitrous oxide engines and All motor engines. Kathy and Dave Atkins have been in my shop checking out their east coast vendors and I could tell you from many years of personal experience they are a class 1 act.

My expreince with Atkins has never been good.

First motor blew up under 5000 miles. No warranty.

2nd motor I upgrade to ceramic apex seals becuase the first one blew up so easily. Low compression out of box. Only has 6.0 to 6.5 kg/cm2 even though they wrote 9.0 to 9.5 kg/cm2 on the bottom of the motor. I don't know how they checked for compression before they ship the motor. With all those Vaseline still inside the motor, I guess that's how they got those high numbers.

After I drop in the motor, I had to lean out the map by 20% or the car is running too rich. Did the compression test with the digital Mazda one and only got 6.0 to 6.5 on all chambers.

My other customers motors from Aktins are never running smooth. PFC always shows high knocks. I will never use Atkins ever again. Gave them at least 15K worth of motor business and got nothing good out of it.

Lucky I rebuild my own engines. As far as customer service they are excellent. You order parts you get parts right away.

So basically they have great customer service but shitty product? I don't get it

Not exactly. Ito uses their seals all the time and they work great. Joe orders their parts and they arrive in a timely fashion. But then you have Chuck who has 2 blown engines and **** just doesn't fit.

So, there is a lesson to be learned here, it goes a little something like this.

Take Joe's feedback so you can make an educated decision to go with Atkins apex seals. Then use Chucks experiance for you and don't send you motor to them for a rebuild. And finally, call the Judge, he'll do it right. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Well when the time comes I will give Ito business.. he has no negative feedback, one of the few people here that truly know what the hell their talking about, and builds his engines to last and perform.. So my hats off to him https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

is it just me or do all the atkin female employees sound super hawt on the phone?

Rotaryman88 01-24-2004 09:48 PM

We've used Atkins motors in most cars I've delt with. Thus far I've only had one bad one...it wouldn't hold oil pressure and dynod 157whp w/ full exhaust and 9psi...not to mention about 110ft-lbs..however, Dave replaced the motor free of charge and the car has since done fine..dynod a much healthier 209whp at 9psi and is showing signs of lasting longer then the OE motor,lol..

..I've been a customer of Dave's for years and he/his co is def #1 in my book to date...
