SO I went to get my "new" 80 SA22 inspected ...supposedly the previous owner passed and showed me "proof" ..so I figured ok.. well guess what? HC's were 5X the max value! So my usual inspection sources have dried up and one is taking too long ...

Does anyone know a place where I can get my Hydrocarbons passed (stock exhaust)? I'll be done putting in the 12A back in my RX-3 wagon and I'd hate to not be able to inspec that car.

email me privately of course lordmythic@yahoo.com ..

LordMythic 02-20-2002 09:28 AM

Yep.. went to NJ inspection center in Jersey city and everything passed except the Hydrocarbon level.

I'm figuring my wagon won't pass when we're ready either so....

I think that removing my presilencer would help free up alot of power, but I like the way the car sounds with it.

Yeah, the new clutch is in, but I still have to change the master cylinder. I'll do that tomorrow. Are you bringing your car? I want to hear what that exhaust system sounds like.

LordMythic 02-20-2002 03:42 PM

to be honest I'm shocked that my 80 failed smog ..the exhaust looks fine ..the engine has never smoked as far as I've seen ...I've run it in my garage with the door almost closed and could hardly smell it ...

Now my old TII with no cats and an apex n1 exhaust ...wow ..I drove with the hatch open once and nearly choked to death from the fumes .. i could only imagine those following me!!

Sorry to say that the wagon is definitely definitely gonna ruin the environment ...
