i was thinkin about using that tire, what do the drag racers here recommend? Bf goodrich or Nitto? Also, will that 255/50R16 be too big for a stock FD wheel? i was going to get the 245/50R16 in the NT555R, but then saw the 255/50R16 in the BF goodrich, but i wasnt sure if the 255 is too large for the 16x8. I know i can fit a 245/50 on the wheel.. but im not sure about the 255. Please let me know what would be best for the strip as well as daily street driving... thanks! |
The 255-50-16 will fit, but it is quite a bit taller than the stock size so your gearing is going to be a little off. Lower gears make you faster....those tires will be like having taller gears. I would stick with the 245-50-16 unless you need that extra 10mm of tread on the ground. I use Nitto but I know alot of people that like the BFG's.

yeah, i was thinking about the tire being too much taller than stock.. thats why i didnt know if i should use the 255... but what about longetivity? (sp?) i use my car as a daily driver and dont really find myself drag racing on the street alot.. but i DO, do alot of highway runs or rolling starts...

BFG are better for the track. nitto are better for normal driving

The Nitto's will last longer than the BFG's. Nitto claims that they have a tread life of about 15,000 miles which is insane for a tire with only 6/32 of tread to begin with. I'd go Nitto....wait...I did go Nitto. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

hell.. i put near 3k miles on my car a month... those 15k should go even faster with the abuse... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.png

I have the nitto 555r drags and they are nice and sticky. You'll like them.
