Is time to get tires.

The sizes of current tires are

front 18x8 225 40 18

rear 18x9 255 35 18

Right now I have falken in the rear which are bald.

I'm planning to use the car at the track and autocross.

Any recommendations? No slicks yet please.

Thread life is my least concern.

I've been really happy w/ the Khumo MX. They do fall a touch short in grip to the new Falken Azenis, but are usually quite a bit cheaper (cost, not quality) and do last longer. I could usually get 1.5 - 2 years out of a set on my Jetta (usually autox a few times a year). There probably are better out there, but not for the money from what I've found.

Love my Falken Azenis. www.edgeracing.com has pretty good prices on them. I run a 235 on all my 8" rims.

I've also heard great things about the yokohama advan neova, but they are costy.

Looks like everyone like the Falkens. The rear tires, which are bold are Falken, I have to see what model they are.

I took a look at those tires, they have the size I'm looking on the front but not the rears so I'll have to skip. I really want to get the same tire for everything. The do have an attractive price

Bridgestone RE-01R are surprisingly cheap these days. Not as cheap as the Azenis or MX, but close at some places.
