define used?? id figured the best braking would happen after the parts have been broken in, used. for some reason i think that non slotted/drilled rotors with a good set of pads break the best.

The reason used (between 500 miles and needing to be turned) rotors and worn in pads perform the best is because the surface area of the rotor and pad grow. Yes I said that, grow, now before you call bullshit let me explain; New rotors and pads have a profile that looks like this_____________ Used rotors and worn in pads have a profile that looks like this^^^^^^^^^^^^ So while the diameter of the rotor didn't change and the length and width dimensions of the pad didn't change there is more surface area that makes contact between the rotor and the pad...more friction=stop better |
