Just wondering....... can brake calipers be polished so it can be bling instead of painted?
Yes they can, and you can use a product called boe-shield to help keep them shiny, you can also ceramic coat and powder paint them.
cool.... thanks for the response
another question..... what is the cheapest way to make the calipers nice and what's the quickest way?
I just hit them with a wirewheel. Not polished by any means, but they are shiny now. And it will clean all of the oxydation off if you want to then go on to polish them.
somewhat tedious but you can do a full polish..
I think that the time it takes to polish, you might be money ahead with the ceramic coating, yes you do have to rebuild the calipers as they have to be dis-assembled but the cost for a 4-piston rebuild kit isn't that much. I paid 100 a caliper to have mine ceramic coated, when you add the rebuild kits and my time the four corners cost me under 600.00usd, granted polishing may cost less up front but the ceramic will be san-o way longer than any polish job.
how long does it take for a descent polish job... doesn't have to be mirror polish
Honestly, I'm not the right person to ask, I hate polishing, I think it takes forever. FD3BOOST has some NICE polished pieces on his ride, and I think he did it himself, maybe he can give you a more accurate estimation.

cool.... thanks for your responses though
