hipermax ii

installed it tonite to find the front driver side to be a quarter inch higher than that of the passenger..

the thread between collars are exactly the same count..

so there are no issues on that end...

motor mounts are good..

wonderin if hks did that to compensate for driver weight....

any comments or experiences...

also would like to confirm that the left label on the coilover means driver side..

the labels are right, and you measured after the springs settled, jio?

the left side is supposed to be a little bit higher only because, once you get in, it evens out (average weight of driver being like 150 lbs or something)

try having someone else measure after you get in, buddy. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

your right mitch..

should hang for actual height for settling

figured as much with the driver weight but thought a quarter of an inch difference is a bit high for these spring rates...

i would just adjust it so its correct with you, or your approx wieght in the car, kinda why you have the adjustments?

yep..

already adjusted.. takin her to a shop for corner balancing later

decreased the height difference to a sixteenth of an inch..

maintaining the taller end to the drivers side..

just curious as to the total difference in height and its relation to the spring rates...

also wonderin since they are the jspec version...

and the height is for driver weight...

why isnt the taller height on the opposite side for rhd...

Those springs on the shocks are 450 lb/inch. If the perches are set at the same position on the shock but one side is 1/4" lower, that means there is 450 x 1/4 = 112.5 lb of extra weight at that corner. You shouldn't worry too much about the height difference once you have the car corner weighed with your sitting in the car.

ran the car to RF with them..

dampening adjusted to full stiff...

still rubs even with the 450lb spring rate...

gap from top wheel to fender lip is a quarter of an inch...

gonna swap the springs to a higher rate or adjust the ride height higher..

jio, go up about 1/4 inch, when you are measuring, try doing a corner, and then kinda move your car back and forth, and have it settle.

its kinda weird sometimes like right after you adjust it to measure height, it gets all wacked out.

btw, i'd also make sure the surface you are on is actually level.

but just for info, when i did mine, it was 1/16 higher on driver side, and then it fixed it self when i got in. (although, i did cheat though and corner weight it..... hehehe)

you got my number, gimme a ring about if you still have trouble

thanks

but already did all that mitch..

level ground.. raised the driver side front and rear to sixteen of an inch to compensate for fuel and driver...

settled even throughout corners..

i just had it set too low..

id like to keep it that way as she felt real good..

issue of equal spring rates on corners were offset by a larger front sway..

she didnt seem to want to lose the rear at any time....

didnt find the ride to be too harsh either.. so i could most likely raise it up a notch on rates...
