Ok....here is my tire question. I am looking to order some new tires for my car. I am debating between the Kumho MX and the Falken Azenis Sport. Which one will do better for auto-x as well as street driving. They will have to drive in dry/wet conditions....no snow will be necessary.

The sizes will be:

Kumho MX

225-45-17(F) and 255-40-17®

Falken Azenis Sport

225-45-17(F) and 245-45-17®

I am running 5Zigen FN-01RC Bronze in 17x8(F) and 17x9®.

The Kumho MX will cost me $492 shipped and the Falken Azenis Sport will cost me $474 shipped. I am just curious to know what you feel are the better tire.

I talked to a few people running the Azenis at my last track day. They all said they grip well until they get hot, then they start feeling greasy. Also a little bit squirmish at full tread. I don't think you'll be seeing the same temps on an autox though.

In Texas it is easy to over heat the Azenis at an autocross. I have the MX and have been very happy with them serving dual duty (street/ autox). They are great in the wet, good hydroplane resistance.

I'm sure you'll be happy with either one.

I'd get the HOes, but that's just me.

I 've had most brands even BFg road race, Hoosier RR, and last the Toyo R1. RE71s and RE71 R , Goodyear, Nitto 555.

As of pure street and price the Sumitomo with 180 tread wear is awsome.

sticky and not too expensive.
