I've been looking at a new set of tires, but what should i get. Are the ES100's worth the additional 15 bucks a pop over the 712's?

i have had both and i dodnt really notice much of a difference...i have just stuck with the 712's!

General street use with an occasional trip to the road course.

get the es100. If you want kumho get MX or don't bother.



Or you can look at falken azensis sport, not sure what tire size you are looking for though

Oh that brings another thing up. I was probably gonna run stock size 225/55/16's But would 55's have too much sidewall height for road racing?

Get the 712's i dont care what people think, i have 712's on the back of my car and it hooks up real nice. Now i have a 245/40/17 which comes in the softer rubber compund so i dont know if your size would be the same compound as mine. But for the front i would recomend a dunlop fm901 i thinks it's one of the better handleing tires that are cheaper.

Stock size for what I would assume is a second gen would be 205/55/16.



If you want a nice upgrade, 225/50/16s are what came stock on the third gens and are what I run on my TII now.

Err, well i meant stock for my wheels, i'm sorry. I have 16x7. So i was wondering if i could run 50's on wheels or would it mess with my speedo and stuff too much?

I think it will read 8% too high if I remember the conversion correctly. You can run 50s with no deviation if you get 225/50s!



They will fit the stock wheels too. I think 245s are the largest you can cram on a 7" wide wheel.
