more than likely Brembo or a sub of Brembo did the R&D on the rotor, personally I run powerslot on my car and they perform beautifully. I don't see a necessity to run high end anything unless you have the cash to blow or need the performance parts for your application, i.e pro racing, etc.

Cross-Drilling Cross-drilling your rotors might look neat, but what is it really doing for you? Well, unless your car is using brake pads that are 50 to 60 years old, not a whole lot. Rotors were first “drilled” because early brake pad materials gave off gasses when heated to racing temperatures - a process known as “gassing out”. These gasses then formed a thin layer between the brake pad face and the rotor, acting as a lubricant and effectively lowering the coefficient of friction. The holes were implemented to give the gasses somewhere to go. It was an effective solution, but today's friction materials do not exhibit the same gassing out phenomenon as the early pads. |
so say you are going out to race and have some new pads for your stock rotors. would it be stupid according to that article to cut a groove down the middle of the pad to evacuate,,,well, whatever is produced from heavy braking?

The 4 piston caliper pads are already divided, he was refering to the rotors themselves.
