i have narrowed my choice to a few of these, but added some more jsut for the hell of it..... these are the tires that come in 275/40/17

the cheapest and widest tread is the avs100, but tire rack rated the eagle f1's and firehawk the best.

should i quit ******* around and get hosiers? j/k

Joe Flo 08-06-2003 11:08 PM

I voted for the Eagle F1's mostly cause I really like the commercial. The tread looks bad ass and I have read reviews on them. The price is the only downside...

FikseRxSeven 08-06-2003 11:24 PM

actually eagle f1's are in the middle of the scale, there are a lot that are more expensive

Joe Flo 08-12-2003 06:42 PM

I thought the F1's had the best wet traction? That was mainly the reason for me wanting them. I alway get caught in the rain with my car. Take pictures when you get them in!

rfreeman27 08-12-2003 07:01 PM

whats the offsets on thoes fikse's??

I am hopefully going to run 285's without rubbing (crosses fingers)

Get Bridgstone S-03. When I first bought my car I put on stock size S-03 and it couldn't spin them in standing water on pavement. Axle hop only.

rfreeman27 08-12-2003 07:34 PM

ordered s-03's for my new wheels!

cant wait!

FikseRxSeven 08-12-2003 11:52 PM

f1's are rated better for wet traction than s-03, the difference shouldnt be that much though

yeah but dry traction is where the s-03's will shine!

Hi,

Well, I remember that there was a thread by a guy from Tire-rack listing best 5 tires for all needs....like street, rain, or road race. Can't find the link tho. Anyone finds it, please post link.

Thanks,

POM HB

ok, some feedback on the eagle f1's...... they are awesome in wet weather... i used to feel like im losing control of the car when i used to have my toyo fz4(or some **** like that) and now even with all the bad weather we had, i havent felt that yet

according to tire rack so-3 has better dry weather traction and f1's have better wet weather traction...... i ended up choosing f1 because, with 285/40/17..... im gunna have all the dry weather traction im gunna need...... and the wider the tires get the more suseptable they are to hydroplaning (thats why you see trucks with 4 skinny wheels in the rear) so i picked the better wet weather tire......... and they are also rated better for wear

Potenza RE750's are awesome tires. I have 225 50 16's on my GTU. They grip better than my friends 245 45 16 ES100's, wet and dry, and theyre more predictable at the limit. Very progressive breakaway. Tons of traction. Way better than the Dunlop SP8000's I had before.
