I was going to save up and try to buy a nice coilover set-up, but I realize it wouldn't be very economical for me. So I've decided to go with an agressive spring and adjustable strut set-up. I was thinking about using the tokico 5way adjust. What are your feelings on these? Worth it? Also I'm looking for a very aggressive spring, what would you reccomend? I'm really not looking for a change in ride height as much, but it wouldn't hurt. Thanks for any advice.

Not sure how agressive you need, but I believe M2 offers custom-wound coilover sleeves. You could pretty much pick your spring rate.
I use H&R's on stock dampers, and I imagine that they'd be pretty stiff with some Tokico's set to firm. They also sling the car about an inch lower, which is borderline too much, but it works well. I almost forgot, since you're asking for stiff springs, you probably know that you'll want linear springs, so stay away from the Eibachs, they're progressive rate. |
I was looking into the HR's but I wasn't sure about how low I want to go. The RS-R's are said to increase springrate 30-50%. But it doesn't say if the are linear or not. So far I'm stuck between the HR's and RS-Rs

I've never bothered to check out the RS-R's, so I don't know. I think the H&R's are of comparable increase (30-50%).
|
hmm.. With the H&R, do you think it would rub? I have 17x8s in the front running a 245/40/17 tire
|
Yeah, there's a good chance it will. I think 235's would be a safe maximum for the H&R's 1.25" (I looked it up) of lowering. It looks like the RS-R Race springs provide a significant spring rate, and I think that because they're advertized as 'Race' they will be linear. It would be bizarre to see a race spring in progressive trim.

I'll probably go RS-R then. Thanks for your help. I haven't seen anyone using the RS-R's so I'll let everyone know how they feel. again thanks for the help.
|
Sorry I don't know more about the RSR's, but I look forward to hearing some feedback about them!

The RS-R springs are suppose to come in today. I'll probably order the adjustable sruts next Friday. Then I'll let everyone know how they feel.

COOL! I can hardly wait! *giggles*
