Hey all,

I'm running 17" aftermarket wheels and Firestone FireHawk SZ50 tires.

235 45 ZR17 front and 275 40 ZR17 rear. I have been experimenting with varying pressure from the factory spec ( 32 psi ). Have found 36 psi front and rear to be pretty happy on the street. Any one else varied their pressure? Tom

I run 20 psi out back with the Nitto's https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif and ~25 psi up front...I think... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

I run around 35 up front and 30 in the back with the rear shocks also set a bit softer than the fronts for the street. This seems to be the best handling/traction combo for me. I have 205/40/17's btw.

Wow, you guys are running really low psi. When I drop down lower, things loosen up and I lose response. Hmmmm.. Thanks, Tom

I have found that running lower PSI on my rears allows me to get even tread wear. This is why I did it. :bigok:

when you get even tread wear, it means you are using the most contact patch possible, which equals best traction, lots of people lower their psi in the back for better traction, but they usually do it too low, and run it on the edges...silly people

i run 37 all around and get decent wear... if i run lower the edges wear more.. especallyduring tight turns

Thanks for the replys all. I hoped this would prove to be a useful topic. At 36 psi front and rear my treadwear seems nice and even. Tom

if the treadwear is even then you're using the whole contact patch, which means full traction, woohoo

Yes, full traction is great! These things are snstable enough in the rain.
