Hi there everybody

Im currently rebuilding my 13b re enginbe from a jc cosmo and i have a question regarding stationary gears.

Now ive read a lot of posts on this sit and other forums and am getting different ideas on what will work.

I just want to know if the RX8 gears will fit and do they have the same tooth pattern that will match the cosmo rotors?

As i understant the cosmo gears are not hardened like the fd gears so im thinking this is a worth while upgrade seeing that the engine is going to be bridge ported and be running a modified holset hx55 turbo.

any help guys would be appreciated.thanx

i have the rx8 gears and e-shaft in my extended port 13bre, everything works just fine. you just need to use a thin layer i mean a skim coat of sealent on the rear gear do to the lack of oil o-ring. i believe the gears i have are the Y labled gears.

Yeap, the rear oil hole doesn't line up. Take off the oil filter pedistle and test fit the rear stat gear, then look down the machined oil hole, you'll notice only half the hole in the stat gear is showing. That feeds your rear main bearing. I've used a die grinder to oval the hole so that it gets the full amount of oil flowing through it.

Also you do need to use RTV sealant or something of the sort to seal the rear stat gear since it doesn't have a machined groove for an o-ring like the older stat gears have.
