I work in an office and everyone is allowed an mp3 player or something to listen to(with headphones). Yesterday i get called into the bosses office and they tell me theres a new policy of no electronics allowed on the desks besides mp3 players(no cells, laptops, ect; some reason they also mentioned magazines?). So then im told i cant have the psp since its not strictly an mp3 player(this is the defining term for the policy)... She asks do you have an mp3 player. my anwer well of course i do ITS A PSP. To make this shorter i leave and then she walks to everyones desk and tells them all the same thing. guy in front of me uses a cell phone for an mp3 player and she tells him its ok to have since its being used for that.. So while this wouldnt be such a big deal normaly its just it appears the whole thing was done for them to make it to where i counldnt bring the psp. And the reason for that is it has internet and someone got pissed that they didnt. Mind you i do 200% productivity at the damn place while others struggle to make 100, if they really wanted to do their jobs they could **** with those people. So today just to make my own point im taking it with me like always and when they say something i'll tell them like it is So be prepared for the "i got fired from work today" post to come

 

Well, only you know if this is worth losing a job over. IMO, you should take a step back and look the situation over. If the job sucks and you could land another one that pays as well or better in a day or two, then sure! Take your PSP and leave. Otherwise, you should probably adhere to your employers guidelines for office behavior. They can't look at every device and decide if the user is being productive enough to have it in the office. Hence, they make rules.

 

If you like the job, just get an ipod.

This one really isn't just about the player. its more the situation and how its presented a long with other things that have been going on lately.

 

Like I said if you like the job, get a ******* ipod, if you don't like the job tell them to get fucked. You can always go back to panhandling for rent money.

I figured out the deal. 2 of the bitches there got in trouble for using their laptops while working and reading from their college class books/magazines. One of their obnoxious friends is pissed casue i compeltely ignore her so when they talked to those 2 all 3 went back and bitched that i had a psp, probably also saying that i play games on it and who knows what else. I should have realized this one last week. One of them asked me what games i had which oddly enough is actualy zero.. Im talking to the highest up tomorrow, im well liked by the upper management. A lot of weird **** goes on in this damn place, i just cant stand for anymore.

 

Make them promote you and fire those bitches

 

Sounds like nobody there has any real work to do.

 

Honestly, it sounds like you work at one of those places where a whole bunch of people who never got past the high school mentality found each other and decided to escape back into adolescence...rather than doing their jobs.
