I stopped by the mazda dealer the other day to order a new throttle cable (the casing on mine is broken in 2 places). I was dissappointed to find out that they no longer make/stock cables for the pre may '87 build dates. Part # for earlier S4 T2 cars - FB44 41 660A

Part # for later S4 T2 cars - FB44 41 660C

Has anyone used the C in place of the A with any success?

Mazdatrix lists the C covering all '86 to '88 S4 T2s. But with the dealer listing a different part # for the early cars I'm a bit timid about ordering a $60 cable to find out it won't work.

since you have the parts number, try pinnacle(renton?) mazda's on line store, they generally have really good prices. i saved $100's on an obscure vert part...
