tension rod vibration opinons?

ok heres my question, ive heard of people using shrink wrap around the center of tension rod, where there is no threads, to help stop vibrations. any opinions on this trick i guess you can say. im asking because this weekend im assembling my h/b ported rew engine, everything is dynamically ballanced, all new bearings, new rotor housings, 3mm seals etc etc... ive been debating this for sometime and was wondering if anyone else has any thing good to say sbout it. thanks guys

yea i thought about it, but ive heard of some nightmares about machine shops not having everything machined perfectly straight, and thats even more costly if thats the case. and knowing my luck that would happen. but thanks for the advice

Just add a spiral of silicone to the first 2/3 of the bolt. Works every time. I broke one bolt since 1980. The one I forgot to put silicone on.

This is especially effective on the S4 and older motors w/ the skinnier tension bolts.

!00% GE tub and Tile Caulk in the big gun size tube. Works great for bolts and for header flange gasket.

I use any kind of silicone sealant; generic junk, whatever.

yeah its not sealing anything, its just there as cushion
