My 90 GTU is just collecting dust, and Im at a point in my life where i simply dont have the time or resources for a project car, so Im looking to sell it. Id like to sell it complete, but if it doesnt sell in a reasonable timeframe, Ill part it out. Im looking to get $800 for the car. Heres the important stuff.
The shell and gauge cluster are all thats left from the original 1990 GTU, and has 206k miles on it. The dash is from an 89 vert(its lighter than the coupe dash) as well as the seats. The seat speakers were wired to the radio, so the wiring is there. The rest of the interior is from an 89 TII. Also from that same 89 TII was the complete driveline, brakes, suspension, rear subframe, and wheels. All of the TII parts had 99k miles on them when I installed them, which was at 189K on the chassis odometer.
The bumper support on the front was all cut out and replaced with 4130 chromoly tubing. This frees up a ton of room for custom IC/radiator/oil cooler installations. But theres still custom work to be done, so this may make a better parts car than project car for someone less ambitious.
Wheels are polished S5 TII(just dirty in the pics) with 225 50 16 bridgestone potenza RE750 tires. Front tires have 60-70% tread left, but the rears are close to the wear blocks.
Car is lowered with 2 1/2" coil springs cut to length. Rear spring rate is approximately 145 lb/in while the front is approximately 180 lb/in. These are matched to stock S5 TII tokkico blues in the front and stock S5 TII shocks in the back.
There is no rust on the chassis aside from the minor surface rust on the front where I welded on the 4130 tubing. A little elbow grease will take care of that.
Tinted windows. Hatch is 15%, side windows are 20% and the windshield is 35% all the way down.
Car comes with an old style Racing Beat turbo back. New gaskets and hangers and stainless bolts throughout.
