Acura is developing a new sports car to succeed the current NSX, according to a company news release.



Acura also announced that production of the current generation NSX will cease at the end of the year due to the extensive retooling necessary to meet stringent 2006 emissions and equipment regulations for the U.S., Europe and Asia.



"We are committed to having an ultra high-performance vehicle in the Acura lineup in the future," said John Mendel, senior vice president, automobile operations. "It's too early to comment on specifics, but the all-new model will be just as groundbreaking as the 1991 NSX."



During its 15-year run, the NSX's cumulative sales totaled 8,854 in the U.S. and more than 18,000 worldwide.

 

arent they replacing it with the hsc or whatever

 

I had thought the HSC was a dead end.



I'm saying the next one will be a hybrid.

 

I hope the new one will actually be worth the price.

hsc is hybrid, stands for hybrid sports coupe or somethnig

 

Why would they even consider releasing it again? Those are low sales numbers for the US. Even worldwide. Unless they are a limited number, that would make more sense to me.

Even if it was I still wouldn't want one, if someone had to have foreign/exotic Porsche and MBZ have better quality and performance for the money...



...although maintenance comes at a price.
