I have a '93 Mazda RX7 that has a blown motor, I am in the process of getting it rebuilt and street ported, I was wondering what else I should due while I am in the process of doing such things. My current mods are flywheel, clutch, a pettit stock mount intercooler, cat back exhaust, pettit cold air intake. So far I am buying a pettit pulley kit I am also getting block off plates. What else should I do?

thanks

d

start with cooling, fuel, and supporting mods to get your car on a nice foundation to be daily driven. doing so will save you headaches down the road....

To the best of my recollection, a streetport isn't a huge horsepower maker, not all that much material is removed in the way of porting, a piggyback fuel computer and an aftermarket fuel pump will help you to dial in the stock injectors.

not trying to preach, but before you touch anything (or pay to have someone else touch it) you NEED to define your goals more specifically. how fast? power range? etc ...

the FD is already a fast car! there's no sense in ending up with a monster that you hate driving.

now, with that said, i think a streetport is great place to start if you're going to have to rebuild anyway. the engine is the foundation on which you'll build. i won't touch turbo choices because i don't know what your driving tastes are and you don't need your thread to turn into a debate. however, as it was said before, when you get the engine built, deal with cooling, charge cooling and good tuning.

in what condition are your stock twins?
