would any one be able to tell me how to pop off my driver side door handle? I broke the spring or something, and I'm tired of opening up the driver door from the passanger side.... I was thinking of just getting a door poper but i'm sure this will be cheaper.

remove the door panel, roll up the window , remove the 2 10mm nuts and pop the clips off the rods goin to the handle and tilt the handle up and out.

Mazda decided to start manufacturing the door handles very cheaply in the 80's. Usually it is not a spring that breaks that can be replaced so inexpensively. It is usually the metal that attaches the actual handle to the rest of the door lock. They decided not to make it out of solid metal any more and it seems to be a very weak casted metal and it breaks. Expect to have to buy a whole new handle and not just an inexpensive spring.

Yeah, FC door handles are the weakest link, I can change a door handle out like a Nascar pit crew changes tires.

If y'all weren't such a bunch of ham-fisted knuckle draggers, you wouldn't have a problem. I drove a late 80's Mazda daily for 14 years. Did it have a cheapo door handle? Yes! Did I ever break it? No!
