what litre engine is the rx7

hi ive been arguing with my mate that the rx7 is a 1.3 litre can some one please settle this arguiment and tell me what litre the rx7 is pls.

if the 3rd gen is a 1.3 how come the cars in autotrader say 2.6??? i know its a dumb thing to say sorry

Well, the SCCA conciders RX-7's 2.6L's because they breathe as much as a 2.6L. And most people who don't know will say "1.3? That can't be right, must be a 2.6L" because of the amount of power it puts out(I've seen this a lot)

probably some of that same people that sell them as 4 cyl cause they have 4 spark plugs

Look:theoritically is 1308cc and in some countries like greece that im living you pay taxes for it as being a 1300 car but in true it is 2616cc- may God bless Wankel... :yinyang:

Measured strictly in terms of displacement, it is 1.3L. However, if you were to measure the same way all other motors are measured, because the rotary has two power cycles to a piston-motor's one, it would be 2.6L.



So, technically, you're both right.
